Injured and post-surgical athletes have the opportunity for treatment of their injuries at The Athlete’s Zone Sports Medicine Clinic. Treatment by Certified Athletic Therapists, Chiropractors and Registered Massage Therapists gives the athlete a broad spectrum of treatment options, techniques and scheduling flexibility.
Athletes at all stages of the injury spectrum, whether just recently injured or battling a long-term injury situation, have the opportunity to receive treatment which is personalized and effective for their specific situation. All treatment programs are based on the return to activity, with the goal of returning to full activity with proper healing, functional training and a dedicated return to play strength and conditioning program as a guide to each athlete’s program.
Traditional modalities such as therapeutic ultrasound, laser, ICF, heat, ice and muscle stimulation are complemented by a strong belief in the effectiveness of both hands on work by our therapists and the value of exercise and movement in the healing process.
“Truly a top notch facility with top notch, friendly staff. I’ve used both their training and physio services to improve and restore functionality from years of chronic back pain. Before Athlete’s Zone I had spent years working with different physios, trainers and doctors, but Athlete’s Zones’ all encompassing, multi-disciplinary approach has yielded the best results by far. Wish I had found them sooner!”
The Sports Medicine Clinic at The Athlete’s Zone also offers long-term treatment options for post-surgical athletes. Athletes in this situation can access pre-surgical treatment, immediate post-surgical care if warranted and progressive treatment of their condition as they recover.
We employ the same movement screening process and customized program development with our older members to identify and correct mobility, motor pattern or stability issues within their body.
“It was extremely important for me to get treated and treated correctly. That’s why I researched and found the Athletic Therapy services at The Athlete’s Zone. I consider myself quite active and not having the ability to return to sport after ACL reconstruction would have had an enormous impact on my life.
At first I was very anxious to just be able to bend my knee, however I was reassured that with time and exercise I would heal up just right. It was a lot of work and I think I could of worked even harder at it but for now I’m content with the fact I am back playing all my sports.
Everywhere I looked there were young athletes and great tools to utilize in my rehab. Exercises were different each time and there was a lot of room to work with. I enjoyed this most. Just the atmosphere … music … other patients with relatable issues; I knew I was in the right place.”
